Welcome to the BBANYS website! We hope that you find it a useful tool to keep informed of BBANYS happenings. BBANYS is a non-profit organization, whose primary mission is education and the exchange of ideas among professionals in transfusion medicine. In 2001, we proudly celebrated our 50th anniversary as an organization. During this time period, the field of transfusion medicine has faced innumerable changes . What has remained constant, however, is the need for us to continually adapt to the new challenges that present. We plan to continue to provide avenues to our members for educational enrichment and professional networking. Membership in BBANYS affords many benefits to its members:

• We offer educational programs that include regional programs, as well as BBANYS' Annual Meeting. The Annual Meeting, features technical, scientific and managerial programs presented by excellent speakers, workshops and vendor displays. It is held each year in the spring and moves to various locations throughout the state. These are high caliber educational programs that are within driving distance from most areas.
• Stay informed with BBANYS' newsletter, The Quarterly. It is an excellent way for members to keep current with critical transfusion medicine developments. Each issue of the newsletter also features a challenging immunohematology case study to test your skills.
• The opportunity to network with your colleagues across the state. BBANYS publishes a membership directory to facilitate these interactions.

BBANYS is proud of our more than fifty-year history as a professional organization for transfusion medicine specialists and associated professionals. I encourage you to become involved in BBANYS. If you are not yet a member, join us and take advantage of all the association has to offer! To our current BBANYS members, I thank you for your continued support.
